Christ
Redeemer Church -- Gathering to Serve
Here is what Wren Giesen, 90-years young,
recently said about Christ Redeemer Church
--
" WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS CHURCH. Many of the people in
this church I have known for a long time. It makes me happy to
see everybody each Sunday. The music and the choir set the
special atmosphere for the service. The Minister keeps us
informed about the Bible, our budget, and baseball. However,
there is another blessing in this church that delights my soul.
That is the children! They are bright, alert, and are permitted
to take communion! That reassures me that the future of this
Church will be in good hands!
Thank you for opening our church Web Page! You can view
wonderful videos by clicking on the Children's Choir picture,
the communion picture, and view great San Marcos River Baptism
shots all within the next few seconds. These videos and photos
reflect the nature of the Christ the Redeemer Church ministries
and people...joyful, encouraging, supportive, gracious,
generous, welcoming, Hopeful, searching for ways to serve and
grow, and inclusive. The church is full of "doers" and if you
are looking for a place to "do good things for others" then I
hope you consider coming here to serve others.
Frequent questions I am asked:
How long is the worship service? 60 minutes
including vibrant and wonderful children's and adult choir,
children's sermon, weekly communion open to all members and
visitors, Prayers, and short sermon.
Are Children welcome in worship? Yes, we have a
Children's Corner in the sanctuary where kids sit and draw,
color, and read during worship. They participate fully in
communion and in the children's sermon portion of the service,
as well as sing and laugh...out loud!
Do you have a Sunday School program? Yes. We have
excellent youth teachers and the adult class is led in
discussion in a most engaging manner by Dr. Bert Cobb. Sunday
School is at 9:30 a.m.
Do you have a choir? Yes, we have two choirs. Adult
choir and Children's choir.
What kind of music do you sing in worship? We enjoy
singing both the older familiar hymns and some newer songs also.
We sing out of a hymnal and also use an nicely placed overhead
screen for special times. Organ and grand piano and guitars are
used regularly in worship.
What is the purpose and focus of your church? We
formed in 2005 to grow in the Lord, serve the community, be a
place of inclusiveness where women, men, children, and people of
all races and backgrounds could gather and be embraced and
organized to serve and grow.
Is your church air-conditioned? Yes. Huge
air-conditioners are a blessing in Texas!
We want to meet people and get to know them -- is your church
friendly? Yes. There are larger churches around where
you can get lost in the crowd (which some want to do). It is
impossible to get lost in our church due to the friendliness and
welcoming tone of the people.
You are welcome to call me at 558-1293 or email me at gpadbj@aol.com
if you have any questions or want more information. Hope to see
you in church soon if you are looking for a place to serve and
to grow in your walk of Service with the Lord!
Below is a listing of 74 different areas of Service that members

Opportunities to Serve through Christ the Redeemer Church
A person considering our church as a place to serve commented to
me that she appreciated being made aware of Service
Opportunities within our church. That wonderful comment
prompted the listing below of Opportunities to Serve through
CTRC to help visitors, readers of our web page, and members
become even more aware of the extent of our church ministry
around town.
-- 74 Service Director Positions and Opportunities are listed
below.
-- 90 (at least -- count 'em!) additional volunteer
opportunities are enumerated within this list under the ministry
listed
-- the last one listed, # 75, reads you fill meaning that
if you have a ministry or service endeavor that you want to
integrate into the CTRC ministry listing just email it to me and
I will include your service ministry on the official listing
presented to the Board each month at the Board meeting for their
endorsement and support.
